Dr. Benjamin Tharian is a highly accomplished gastroenterologist and hepatologist with over two
decades of experience in
providing exemplary patient care, conducting cutting-edge research, and contributing significantly
to medical education.
He holds a Doctor of Medicine in General Medicine from India and is board certified in
Gastroenterology and Hepatology
as well as Internal Medicine in the USA. Additionally, he has earned prestigious certifications from
institutions such
as the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Federation of Royal College of Physicians of
the United Kingdom.
Throughout his career, Dr. Tharian has held various academic and clinical positions, including
lecturer at the
University of Tasmania, clinical tutor at Queen’s University Belfast, and co-director of the
Advanced Endoscopy
Fellowship at UAMS. He has also served in leadership roles within professional organizations such as
the American
College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
Dr. Tharian's clinical
interests encompass a wide range of advanced endoscopic procedures, including but not limited to
gastrointestinal
endoscopy, liver transplantation, and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT). He is recognized for
his expertise in
procedures such as Spy Glass Cholangioscopy, Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG), and Endoscopic
Retrograde
Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
